Dear Parents and Guardians,

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.  Matthew 6:33 (ESV)

When I think back to my childhood in rural New Brunswick, I had to be creative to have fun. Our TV had “rabbit ears” and there were four channels: 2 from Canada and 2 from America, including PBS. Now, we have cable and streaming services with so many options! But many times, much of it seems useless. Sometimes I’m reminded of Bruce Springsteen‘s 57 channels and “noth’in on”. Perhaps that’s God telling me to get outside and enjoy His creation – a good encouragement to us all. When I was a child, there were no children my age around so a lot of times I was creating stories, exploring in the woods on our old farm, playing with Lego, playing with my “action figures” and the like. As I flash forward to my own children, who are now teenagers, technology is such a big part of their lives. Whether it’s getting directions, doing an online course, or watching things on social media, so much has changed! For parents, our diligence and awareness may seem like it’s never enough as there are so many influences around our children, whether they be in real life (IRL) or online. Regardless, I pray that as we live in community with one another, that we can allow Christianity to be an obvious and a “subversive” component to our children’s lives. Since we know that sometimes we run away from what we know is good for us, as parents we have to find ways – creative ways - to help our kids understand the importance that the Lord plays in our lives. I pray that we all look forward with expectancy to what the Lord has in store for the year ahead. I encourage you to be an active participant in your child’s education. Even if your child gives you one-word answers about how their day was, be persistent, be resilient, and be encouraged. This year, more than ever, let us demonstrate what it is that we want to see.   Adam Reid - Principal

Kindergarten 2026-2027

As we plan ahead for the 2026-2027 school year please advise the office if you have a child who will be entering Kindergarten in September 2026. Please email us at office@lgca.ca with your child’s name and date of birth.   We have already received numerous requests for Kindergarten and want to make sure that our current families get first preference so please ensure you register your child’s name with us to secure your spot.

LGCA Book Fair is Coming!

Mark your calendars—our school Book Fair is happening October 28 & 29! We’re excited to partner with Living Books, a Christian book distributor, to bring a wide selection of quality books right to our library.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • In-Person Shopping: Students will get a chance to shop during their library classes. They may bring money on their assigned library day.
This is a very exciting opportunity, and a lot of fun for students to SHOP books & bookish items in person! Families can also shop after school on both days.

  • Online Shopping: You’ll be able to shop from home too, using our school’s special code (See attached poster for QR code and promo code to enter at checkout)

  • Fundraiser: Every purchase helps support our school, and allows us to add new, Christian titles to our school library!

We need volunteers to help students shop, as well as to assist with set-up and clean-up. If you’re able to lend a hand, we’d love your help! (Email Mrs. Cahill - ccahill@lgca.ca

Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

Attendance/Absent/Late

If your child is absent for any reason, please ensure that you send an email to your child’s teacher and the office.  Please email your note to Janica Kwon at jkwon@lgca.ca.  The Ministry of Education requires a note from either a parent or guardian for every student absence. The auditors review our records annually.  If there are unexplained absences, the Ministry of Education has the right to withhold funding.

LATE: If any student, K-12 arrives late, they must check in at the office located in the elementary school to obtain a late slip. Students who arrive late to class without a late slip will be sent back to the office to check in. If students arrive late due to an appointment etc., an email must be sent to jkwon@lgca.ca

Lost and Found

The Lost and Found is already growing with many unlabelled sweaters, sweatshirts and jackets. Please remember that every student has the same sweatshirt or sweater and unlabelled ones are very hard to connect to their owner. Please take the time to label your child's name on every item they bring to school including: - Hoodies, Sweaters, Jackets, Water bottles, Lunch Bags, and Backpacks and Boots.
